Death Glitches

Death Glitches

When your character dies in a setting, they will be reprinted within 24 to 72 hours. The exact time of reprinting will be up to player discretion. Upon return to the setting, characters will typically keep all memories of their death unless a consequence glitch prevents them from doing so.

Upon revival, your character will be inflicted with a consequence glitch. This occurs due to the system reading their existence as an incompatibility. Despite this, consequence glitches will not prevent players from playing their roles or playing with the plot in the setting. Characters that receive consequence glitches will have these modifiers for the remainder of the setting. As such, players may choose which glitch they would like to apply to their character from the provided list.

If a character dies as a plot point/because their role decreed it - they will still return to the setting. You may select a consequence glitch, but this is not required. NPCs will not recognize them, and the character will be unable to recall specific details about their death. Other characters (who would feasibly know about the event) will still retain knowledge regarding this specific character's death.

Consequence Glitches

- Obscured: This glitch causes an error with aesthetic rendering when making eye contact with another character. The affected character's face is prone to distorting into repeated textures or graphic noise. There is no sensation that follows this transformation.

- [Redacted]: This glitch causes an error in voice rendering if the affected attempts to talk about the person involved in their death. It will place the forbidden name with a sharp, ear-piercing beep. This beep will be inaudible to the character affected by this glitch, but any character within ear-shot will hear the bleep and feel the subsequent pain the sound produces.

- Morphed: This glitch causes an error in character-model rendering. The affected character will come back as an alternative version of themselves. This may be them as a child, an animal, a canon AU form, et cetera. They will retain all memories up to this point. This glitch is purely an aesthetic change.
Note: If the player chooses to put their character in an underaged body, they are prohibited from participating in sexual situations. Violation of this rule is grounds for removal from the game.

- Interference: This glitch causes an error in model physicality. If someone (the affected character or whoever is conversing with them) attempts to talk about the terms of the affected character's death - the influenced character will begin to exhibit physical signs of wild discoloration, flickering in an out of existence, and pixel dissolution. Their voice will skip and stutter. These effects will only grow more severe as the conversation continues. The character model will begin to return to normal after the topic has been abandoned for five minutes.
